Live Music with Viktors Ritovs and Elizabeta Lāce

We offer the eighth Wednesday night concert for our jazz music lovers and continue the project of the previous concert in Nordic fusion style with the interaction of three strong musicians. At the concert “Waiting for spring” we will meet Viktors Ritovs (piano), Elizabeta Lāce (harp) and Andris Grunte (double bass). We are waiting for all jazz music connoisseurs on Wednesday, January 31, pl. 19:00 at Aston Hotel Riga Lounge Fenikss bar!

Viktors Ritovs is one of the leading jazz pianists in Latvia, who studied at the LMA piano department and obtained a master’s degree, supplemented his knowledge by studying jazz music at the Dutch Conservatory, is an assistant professor of piano playing and improvisation at RPIVA, a lecturer at the LMA jazz department, has led master classes both in Latvia and abroad, plays in Māris Briežkalns jazz quintet, Latvian Radio Bigband and Lauris Amantovs jazz quartet.

Elizabeta Lāce was already described as a harpist with virtuoso talents at the Emīls DārziņŠ music school and is currently one of the most original artists of her generation in Latvia. Her repertoire includes compositions from early music and baroque to interpretations of compositions of the third decade of the 21st century, from authentic jazz/folk/avant-garde improvisations to architecturally structured cycles of original works and interdisciplinary performances. As a soloist with the orchestra, E. Lāce has recorded harp concerts several times with the “Sinfonietta Concertante” (maestro Andris Vecumnieks) and the Vidzeme Chamber Orchestra under the direction of maestro Andras Veismanis, etc. Several solo and chamber music albums recorded by E. Lāce have also been released. E. Lāce has been nominated for the “Austra Award”, “Golden Microphone” and other awards.

Andris Grunte is one of the most sought-after musicians in Latvia and it can be said unequivocally that he is the best Latvian jazz bassist, who has participated in countless recordings with all leading and also European musicians, plays in the Māris Briezkalns quintet, Lauris Amantovs jazz quartet and other projects.

We will complement our “Waiting for Spring” concert with a drink specially adapted for this evening – “ASTON Punch” (€8) and, of course, all drinks and snacks from the Lounge Fenikss drink menu are available.
