We continue to celebrate Wednesday evenings at our place at the Lounge Fenikss bar with live music concerts, and this time with an excellent line-up of young and experienced artists. This evening we will hear jazz standards and our Maestro Raymond Paul’s jazz songs performed by Paula Saija, Viktors Ritovs and Rihards Goba. We are waiting for all Jazz music connoisseurs on Wednesday, December 6 pl. 19:00!

Paula Saija is a new star in the Latvian music sky. In 2021, Paula started her studies at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. With a love of music in her heart, Paula enjoys her musical adventures attending masterclasses and sharing music with great performers on the jazz, soul and funk music scene.

One of her biggest influences is the Riga Gospel Choir, in which she has been singing since 2017, as well as the jazz-funk group “Very Cool People”, with which Paula currently collaborates. Paula has participated in several projects of Maestro Raimonds Pauls. She has performed at several jazz and blues festivals, such as Šiauliai Jazz, Klaipėda Castle Jazz, Taurage Jazz, Rigas Ritmi 2021.

Viktors Ritovs – the pride of Latvian jazz, one of the brightest and most versatile Latvian jazz pianists, a unique composer and a particularly sought-after arranger – a musician without whom today’s Latvian musical life would be unimaginable!

Rihards Goba – makes music together with artists of various styles and genres from all over the world, joint projects created with Latvian composers Raimonds Pauls and Jānis Lūsēns, plays in the musical group “Gray Velvet Trio”, additionally learns, improves and develops jazz skills in the City Jazz Big Band and Bunch of Gentlemen in lineups. For several years, Rihards Goba has participated in the biggest jazz festivals in Latvia, as well as in jazz festivals in Europe.

A special drink has been adapted for this evening – ANGOSTURA TAMBOO rum, which we will enjoy both in the tasting offer and in the compositions of various cocktails at a special price – 6 EUR.

This new fine golden spiced rum is created using Caribbean spices. It is a toast to the timeless pace of Trinidad and Tobago, with its dynamic and exotic nature.

Glass with large ice cubes and sweet and sour citrus fruits – this is a drink that takes you on a Caribbean journey.

After celebrating the birthday of our country, we invite you to a small midweek celebration at our place, Lounge Fenikss bar with Wednesday evening Live Music concerts. This time we will offer the Evergreen Bossa Nova concert with the charming singer Diana Pīrāga, jazz guitarist Aleksei Liapko and double bass player Konstantin Shchavelev. We look forward to welcoming all fans of bossa nova and evening co-host Diana Pīrāga talent on Wednesday, November 22, pl. 19:00!

Diāna Pīrāga – a talented, professional singer, the owner of a strong voice with a pronounced Latin American charm. Plays flute and piano. Collaborated and performed with many prominent musicians and composers from Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, USA and Latin America. She has participated in festivals, competitions and master classes in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Czech Republic. The singer’s repertoire is based on the most popular songs of all time in Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese languages.

The concert will be accompanied by jazz guitarist Aleksejs Liapko, who has released four albums. He is not only a guitar virtuoso, but also a recognized composer. Connoisseurs of jazz music have especially appreciated Liapko’s improvisational talent. Also, Liapko surprises not only with his experienced and technically complex guitar playing, but also with his choice of repertoire.

A special drink for special price has been prepared for this evening – Autumn Paradise – a whiskey-based cocktail, but of course the entire selection of drinks and food menu is available.

We continue to bring a festive feel to the middle of the week with Wednesday night Live Music concerts. We invite everyone who is close to jazz melodies to the concert of our wonderful artists Jūlijas Zakirova and Klāvas Ābola on November 8, pl. 19:00.

Jūlija Zakirova is one of the most original Latvian jazz singers, who started her musical journey at the age of 16. Jūlija Zakirova studied vocal art both in Moscow, at the Academy of Contemporary Art, and at the Riga Dome Choir School (jazz department).

Then followed SONY JAZZ STAGE with Grand Prix, participation in various jazz festivals – Kaunas Jazz, Pori Jazz, Jazz Kaar, Saulkrasti Jazz and cooperation with such wonderful musicians as Madars Kalniņš, Māris Briežkalns (Jazz in Latvia 2008, The best of SONY Jazz stage) , Jānis Stībelis, Denis Paškevičs (participation in the recording of the “Dāvā sapni” CD), Intars Busulis, Raimonds Pauls (recording and presentation of the “My Favorite Melody” CD) and many others.

Then a period outside Latvia followed in the artist’s life. Wanting to expand her musical knowledge, the singer decided to continue her studies at New Park Music School, Dublin, where her path to composing began. Wanting to make music and perform concerts in her homeland, the singer moved back to Riga and graduated from the Jāzeps Vītolas Academy of Music of Latvia.

The piano accompaniment at the concert will be performed by the young talent Klāvs Ābols, who is a long-time member of the Rīgas Ritmi master classes of the jazz music festival, composes himself, and has also made recordings for Latvian radio.

It is said that Wednesdays are the little Fridays, when the work week is half over and we feel that we deserve a little celebration. Therefore, on October 25, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., we invite you to celebrate the next live music evening in Lounge Fenikss in the mood of Jazz & Blues, and this time we offer a jazz trio that will perform piano jazz in the composition of piano, double bass and guitar.

At the piano, weļl meet the young talent Klāvs Ābols, who is a member of the well known Rīgas Ritmi Jazz festival master classes, composes himself, and has also made recordings for Latvian radio.

The guitar accompaniment will be provided by the well-known guitarist Artūrs Kutepovs, who is also the guitarist of the band Labvēlīgais Tips, while we will enjoy the double bass performance by the well-known double bassist Reiņis Ozoliņš who has collaborated in various genres and with various musicians such as Kristīne Prauliņa, Toms Mikāls, Kaspars Kurdenko, Klāvs Ābols, etc.

A special selection of drinks and snacks for 1+1 for 6 euros has been prepared for this evening. From the range of drinks, we offer Lielvārde draft beer, prosecco, Whiskey Sour cocktail, house wine and freshly squeezed juice.

Every second Friday  night at Lounge Fenikss bar at 20:00 we start live music concerts in the mood of Jazz&Blues. We will present these musical pleasures together with a presentation of drinks and snacks adapted to each event and an offer at special prices.

This Friday, October 6, the charming singer Sabīne Žuga, who is known as a member of the group Carousel, will perform in Soft Jazz style.

The matching drink for this evening will be Scotch whiskey Macallan, which is one of the first licensed whiskeys in Scotland since 1824 and is one of the leading single malt whiskeys on the world market.
