Live Music with Caloé (France)

Celebrating International Jazz Day in Riga, we are offering a unique concert with Riga Jazz Stage laureate Camille Barbilion, aka Caloé.

Caloé is a French jazz vocalist and composer described by Jazz Magazine as one of the most surprising discoveries of recent times. An admirer of Ella Fitzgerald, she made improvisation part of her character, scattering with virtuosity and technique – sometimes on jazz standards, sometimes on her own original songs with a more modern twist. “Indescribably beautiful vocal technique, we just have to love Caloé” – this is how the French newspaper Le Canard Enchaîné describes the artist. She studied opera singing at the prestigious École Normale Academy in Paris, as well as jazz violin with Pierre Blanchard.

Caloé is the laureate of the International Jazz Artists Competition Riga Jazz Stage, who surprised the jury of the competition, which also included Maestro Raimonds Pauls and the artistic director of the competition Māris Briežkalns, with her liberated, confident and extremely talented performance.
After the successful performance in the competition, the artist has created a brilliant career and released the album “Saisons”.
Caloé has performed at Tribeca Arts Center in New York, Zinco Jazz Club in Mexico City, Oslo Cosmopolite, Fashing Jazz Club in Stockholm, Duc des Lombards, Made in New York Jazz Festival and all major European jazz festivals.
Caloé will perform with the young French talent pianist Julian Leprince Caetano.

We offer our concert visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy the highest standards of jazz combined with a warm welcome and excellent comfort, as well as to enjoy a drink and snacks from the menu of the Lounge Fenikss bar.

See you on April 26, Friday pl. 19:00, on the 2nd floor of the ASTON Hotel Riga, Brivības Street 48/50!
